This Little Trailblazer goes to BEA!

THIS LITTLE TRAILBLAZER: A GIRL POWER PRIMER at Book Expo in NYC. School Library Journal says this about it: AN EMPOWERING COLLECTIVE BIOGRAPHY FOR BOARD BOOK BINS AND SHELVES.
"Ten wide-eyed women trailblazers, from Ada Lovelace to Maria Tallchief, are presented in brightly colored spreads. In larger print, a rhyming couplet gives young readers a general idea of the road each subject paved, and on the opposite page, in smaller print, more information is disclosed. The final spread asks kids how they will change the world someday, while showcasing a dozen more inspirational figures. The bottom right corner of the last page has a circle with a question mark, offering children the opportunity to see themselves as future trailblazers. An empowering collective biography for board book bins and shelves."—Shelley M. Diaz, School Library Journal

Nothing inspires a happy heartfelt “Awww” moment in me more than seeing a dad out and about, enjoying and guiding his child – that was the inspiration for MIGHTY DADS.
At the construction site, Dad forklifts, Dad dump trucks, etc guide their beloved little Daughter and Son construction vehicles in work, play, and simple life lessons. Along with some crash, bang, boom!

Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada. That's what all the other numbers think of Zero. He doesn't add anything in addition. He's of no use in division. And don't even ask what he does in multiplication. (Hint: Poof!) But Zero knows he's worth a lot, and when the other numbers are suddenly kidnapped by the Roman numerals, he swoops down to prove that his talents are innumerable.

Scripps National Spelling Bee Award for WW the Statue of Liberty!

What Is The Statue of Liberty.jpg

From the folks at Scripps National Spelling Bee today:

I am pleased to inform you that What is the Statue of Liberty? has been chosen as a 2018 Great Words, Great Works title by the Scripps National Spelling Bee. The purpose of this list is to highlight books that introduce students to rich and varied spelling and vocabulary words in context.

This brought back memories of my spelling bee loss in 6th grade. Who knew "necessary" did not include a double cc (not me)! :o)
